School Environmental Analysis

In support of school districts from across North Carolina, The ABC Science Collaborative is analyzing current school environments. The environmental analysis will assess the school community assets, current needs, and vision for the future. The Collaborative will present the evaluation to school leaders this summer. Teachers and school staff, students, and parents provide their input via surveys, interviews, and focus groups. This candid and direct feedback is shared with the school administration for their review and consideration.

The ABCs of Child Health and Well-being

The ABC Science Collaborative and its partners are working with schools and communities to research and evaluate specific steps that schools and healthcare providers can take to better support the health and well-being of students and school staff, with a current focus on mental health.

About the ABC Science Collaborative

The ABC Science Collaborative is a program that pairs scientists and physicians with school and community leaders, as well as community organizations, to help understand the most current health issues on the well-being of children, their families, and the communities they are a part of. The program helps school leaders make informed decisions using data from their own communities. The ultimate goal of the program is to keep teachers, children, and their local communities healthy and well, both now and in the future.
